Dr. Dipesh Navsaria: Finding common ground as health care debate rages

We are in the midst of a resounding debate over the future of health insurance in our country — the political punching bag that the Affordable Care Act (ACA, or “Obamacare”) has become is now being pummeled with greater ardor than ever. While the ACA is an imperfect solution to our nation’s needs, it has accomplished the key goal of insuring more Americans than before, even in the face of significant opposition and key provisions being removed. A great effort of rhetoric is being expended by both those who wish to retain it and those who do not. In an effort to provide clarity on this contentious issue, I offer this context, and a reminder of what we agree upon.
