Stripping health care from 20 million people is unconscionable

Twenty million Americans and more than 500,000 Coloradans are at risk. Twenty million people who are your neighbors, worship with you, attend school with your children, sit next to you at the cafe. Twenty million people in the waiting room of your doctor or your dentist. Twenty million people who stand to lose their health care if the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is repealed. As a fellow Colorado physician caring for thousands of ACA beneficiaries, I am grateful that you have put words to the experience so many health care providers are struggling with: we have seen firsthand the direct benefits of the ACA to the health and well-being of our patients and their families, and thus remaining silent about ACA repeal feels like a violation of the Hippocratic Oath: primum non nocere (first do no harm).
